This is one of the favorite dishes of my kids. Their American stomachs are sometimes hard to please with Chinese food, a cuisine that I am most familiar with, but they are always crazy about pot-stewed chicken wings.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 0.5-inch ginger, chopped
- ½ cup scallion, chopped
- 2 pieces star anise
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 tsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp sugar
- 1 cup water
Marinate the wings in soy sauce and Chinese cooking wine for 20 minutes.
Add olive oil to the pot and fry chicken wings until golden brown.
Add garlic, ginger, scallion, star anise, sauce (soy sauce & Chinese cooking wine), salt, and sugar. Then add a cup of water and stir evenly.
Simmer at medium heat for 20-25 minutes with pot covered. Stir every 5-6 minutes to make sure the sauce does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
Use medium-high heat for another 5-6 minutes without pot cover for thickening sauce.
Your dish is ready to serve. Enjoy!

Those look awesome! I was thinking of making some wings this weekend! Maybe I will give this a try!
Thanks! Happy cooking. ?
